Miss Yvonne
Yvonne Setlock is a certified dance educator, choreographer, and former professional performer who brings industry-level training and real-world experience into every class. She currently serves as the primary dance teacher for grades 5–8 at A.S. Faust Middle School in East Rutherford, where she designs curriculum-aligned lesson plans that emphasize technical development, artistry, and creative movement. Known for her strong technical foundation and supportive teaching style, Yvonne focuses on building clean technique, performance quality, and confident, well-rounded dancers.
A Magna Cum Laude graduate of Montclair State University with a BFA in Dance, Yvonne holds a Standard New Jersey Teacher of Dance Certification. Her professional performance career includes contracts with Norwegian Cruise Line, where she appeared in productions such as Swing! The Broadway Musical, Blazing Boots, and Get Down Tonight, performing high-level commercial and theatrical choreography. She has also performed works by renowned choreographers including Fredrick Earl Mosley, Martha Graham, Christian Von Howard, Antony Tudor, Nancy Lushington, and José Limón.
In addition to teaching, Yvonne is an award-winning choreographer whose work has earned national recognition. She is passionate about creating a positive, disciplined studio environment where dancers develop strong technical skills, artistry, and a genuine love for movement.
