Dance Expression Dance Arts Celebrates Outstanding Success at Backstage Dance Competition
Dance Expression Dance Arts is proud to announce an incredible weekend of achievement at the Backstage Dance Competition, where dancers of all ages showcased their talent, dedication, and passion on stage.
From the studio’s youngest performers to its graduating seniors, DEDA dancers delivered powerful performances that earned top honors across multiple age divisions and categories. The weekend was highlighted by numerous Overall Awards, high adjudications, and special judges’ recognitions.
Among the standout achievements, DEDA’s Senior Small Group “The First Time I Ever Saw Your Face”, choreographed by Miss Danielle Gutt, earned 1st Overall Senior Advanced, Highest Scoring Advanced Small Group, and was named the Highest Scoring Small Group of the entire weekend. In addition, the Elite Teen Large Group “The Garden”, choreographed by Yvonne Francica captured 1st Overall Elite Teen Advanced, Highest Scoring Large Group of the Competition, and received both a Choreography Award and Outstanding Storytelling Award.
In the solo division, Aria Dalio’s performance of “Stars” was named 1st Overall Senior Advanced Soloist and Highest Scoring Advanced Solo of the entire competition, earning her the prestigious Senior Title Winner distinction. Dancers across all levels also received multiple Convention Scholarships, Performance Team invitations, and special awards recognizing artistry, technique, and stage presence.
DEDA’s group, duet, and trio performances continued the momentum, earning numerous Top 10 Overall placements across Mini, Petite, Junior, Pre-Teen, Teen, and Senior divisions. The studio’s Production number “Smash” took home 1st Overall Teen Advanced Production, further showcasing the strength and versatility of DEDA’s performers.
