Miss Alexa

Miss Alexa began her dance journey at Dance Expression Dance Arts, where she discovered not only her love for movement, but also a loving family of sisters and mentors. A longtime member of DEDA’s performance company, she developed a deep appreciation and passion for dance.

She is currently pursuing her BFA in Dance at Montclair State University and is expected to graduate in 2027. She has had the opportunity to perform in works by acclaimed choreographers Jessica DiMauro Marks, Cameron McKinney, Maxine Steinman, Stephanie Martinez, Derek Crescenti, and Ronald K. Brown, whose artistry continues to inspire her growth and education. Her college training has pleasantly challenged her both technically and creatively, reinforcing the strong foundation she built at DEDA.

In July 2025, Miss Alexa completed her yoga teacher certification at Kootenay Yoga School in Joshua Tree, California, training under Stephania Spitzer. This immersive experience deepened her understanding of body, breath, and alignment, enriching her approach to both yoga and dance. She now teaches yoga at Montclair State University, sharing the importance of mindful movement.

Miss Alexa is proud to return to the studio that raised her. She feels incredibly grateful to give back to the community that shaped her, and now implement an environment as supportive as the one she once grew from at DEDA.
