Miss Ami

Miss Ami began dancing at the age of two and continued training and performing in dance competitions through her high school years. She discovered her passion for teaching early, assisting with younger competitive dancers at just 12 years old and teaching her own tap classes during her junior and senior years of high school. Miss Ami attended Marywood University in Scranton, PA, where she majored in Elementary Education, minored in Early Childhood Education and Dance, and was an active member of both the Dance Team and Dance Ensemble for four years. The dance team performed at basketball games, campus events, and an annual Spring Show featuring student-choreographed pieces. As a dance minor, Miss Ami was also a member of the Dance Ensemble, where she was voted President for four years. The ensemble produced workshop performances and community dance events, including one of her favorites—teaching dance to children with special needs. After graduating, Miss Ami earned her Master’s degree in Special Education from William Paterson University. She currently resides in Wayne, NJ and works as a special education teacher in West Milford Township School District. Miss Ami loves sharing her passion for tap and dance education with the young students at Dance Expression, combining her love for teaching with her lifelong dedication to dance.
