Dance Expression Students Performed Saturday March 6,, 2010 OMEGA DANCE COMPETITION
The Dance Expression Dance Company performed for “Omega Dance and Talent Competition" on March 6, 2010 in Parsippany, NJ. The dancers were honored with the following: Dance Expression dance arts received the Studio Award for "Technical Excellence". TOP OVERALL HIGH SCORES and DIAMOND AWARDS for a group 13 + yrs. went to Lyrical Small Group "Bittersweet Symphony", to 12 and under Jr. Small Group Open, "Sneaky Sleepover", and to Modern/Jazz Production number "HAIR". Jr. Duet, Kristina Henderson of Hardyston and Jillian Henderson of Sparta received DIAMOND and "Future Broadway Stars Award" for "We Share Everything" , 13 + Sr. Modern Trio "Shine On" performed by Richelle Garrido-Chase of Vernon, Deena Spaner of Branchville and Megan Murdock of Hardyston received DIAMOND and the "Close to Perfection" Award. TOP OVERALL HIGH SCORES for Jr. Soloist 12 & under was awarded to Taylor Wade of Wantage for her Lyrical Solo, "The River Flows in You", and for Sr. Soloist 13 + yrs. to Morgan Tarantino of Franklin for her Modern Solo "Transatlanticism". DIAMOND Awards were also presented to: "Yellow Calx" Contemporary Duet performed by Leighann Lorenzetti and Megan Murdock of Hardyston, "Your Guardian Angel" Lyrical Solo by Cassidy Alesso of Vernon, "Sacred Road", Modern Solo by Adrianna Velez of Wantage, "Peace" and "Walking on Air" Modern and Jazz Solos by Leighann Lorenzetti, "Watermark", Modern Solo by Megan Murdock, "Ephra", Modern Duet by Maria Iacopelli of Branchville and Morgan Parker of Vernon, for Sr. Modern Small Group "Requiem for a Dream", also receiving the "Future Graham Company Award", Sr. Modern Small Group "Koyal", Jr. Large Group Hip Hop "We Takin Over", Sr. Lg Group Musical Theatre "Oh My God", and Sr. Lg Group Tap "Happy Feet". PLATINUM Award Winners: Sr. Soloist Deena Spaner for Jazz and Modern Solos "Look at Me" and "Red Violin", Erin Garrity of Vernon for Sr. Jazz Solo "Don't Tell Mama", Megan Murdock for Sr. Pointe Solo, "Pulse", Erin Garrity and Cassidy Alesso for Sr. Jazz Duet "Gypsy Rhapsody", Morgan Parker for Teen Lyrical Solo "I'll Try", Richelle Garrido-Chase for Sr. Lyrical Solo "Imperfect Girl", Renea Rossi of Vernon for Teen Jazz Solo "Oye", Maria Iacopelli for Teen Jazz Solo "This Little Bird", Payden Dorney of Hardyston for Teen Jazz Solo "Hollywood", Renea Rossi & Adrianna Velez for Lyrical Duet "Don't Leave Home", Samantha Lorenzetti of Hardyston and Taylor Wade for Jr. Musical Theatre Duet "You're the One That I Want", Sr. Small Group Musical Theatre "Where You Are", Sr. Small Group Open "Crazy World", Sr. Small Group Pointe, "Don't Stop", Teen Large Group Lyrical, "Viva la Vida", and Jr. Large Group Jazz, "Jersey Girls".
