The DANCE EXPRESSION DANCE COMPANY is made up of dancers aged 7-18 who LOVE to dance and who make the commitment to study hard, rehearse regularly, work together and find great joy in performing! If that sounds like you, you’re right for our dance company! The focused commitment and regular participation fosters tremendous technical growth in every dance company member and builds confidence, self esteem and COMPANY camaraderie and connection.
Our Dance Company is a community of students (and their families), a family of dancers who love to dance and perform and who support and encourage each other. We maintain and promote group effort, discourage competition between dancers and inspire all students to strive for their personal best.
Our “Mini-Junior” Company is for dancers aged 7-10 years. These dancers are required to take one weekly ballet class, one weekly jazz class, one weekly Modern class and attend a rehearsal every Saturday morning/afternoon. They will be in two company dance numbers during their first year, a Jazz Dance and our full COMPANY PRODUCTION NUMBER. New Juniors (dancers who are 11 and over and are either new to the dance company or who have one year or less with the company) will be required to meet the full Dance Company requirements listed in the following paragraph.
As a member of the DANCE EXPRESSION DANCE COMPANY you are required to be in our production number, which is composed of the entire DANCE EXPRESSION DANCE COMPANY. Additional dances are optional and will be assigned to you by the director and choreographer. As a company dancer you are required to take two ballet classes, a modern class and a jazz class each week (additional classes are encouraged) and to be present every Saturday for your respective rehearsals.
The DANCE EXPRESSION DANCE COMPANY performs in approximately 4 competitions per season and also performs in approximately 2 community performances per year. These performances are very important to us. Not only are the performance opportunities gratifying but also the good feelings we have after helping others and sharing our talents are fabulous!!!
Each dance company group that you are cast in will require a costume purchase including shoes if necessary.
Tuition payments for all company dancers are made according to our “Unlimited Plan”, either monthly or per trimester. Additional charges occur when guest teachers or choreographers are invited to work with the dancers. These extras are always optional.
